Choose! Cold or Hunger?

of punishments, frienships, and hollow misunderstandings

Dev and Raj had a lot of things common between them. One of them was the fact that they were both out of the class on the first day of school itself. If the grownups knew about this being the foundation of their friendship, they would no doubt have frowned upon them. Thankfully, they didn’t know.
Things were the same for the most part of their lives, but life is seldom fair. A small misunderstanding between the two of the best friends for thirty odd years blew things way out of proportion. Dev was successful, while Raj had sustained financial troubles. Jealousy fuelled the fire for the most part, with Raj under the impression that his financial troubles were all caused by Dev.
Things started to go out of hand, and the petty fights took quite a serious turn. Dev was becoming more and more successful day by day; Raj couldn’t live with it. When it got too much, Raj planned a hit and run, involving Dev.
Even though Dev survived, he lost his memory. All that he retained of his past was the name Raj. Investigations revealed that Dev had transferred half of his property in the name of Raj, two hours before the near fatal accident.
